This is to announce for the information of students of Akwa Ibom State University and the general public that the University will resume for the First Semester of the 2011/2012 session on February 27, 2012, when first-year students are expected to report on our campuses. Returning students should report on Monday March 5, 2012. Students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Social and Management Science are to report at Obio Akpa Campus of the University for their registration and other academic activities. Students are advised to check the University website, www.asku.edu.ng, or the campuses for fee schedules. Fees are to be paid in bank draft drawn from either Zenith Bank, First Bank, Akwa Savings and Loans Ltd, United Bank for Africa or EcoBank and paid to Akwa Ibom State University Ikot Akpaden. All first year students are expected to pay non- refundable acceptance fee of N5,000.00 into the designated banks. His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio has approved the appointment of the following into the Governing Council of the Akwa Ibom State University: Dr. Okon Eminue - Pro Chancellor/Chairman, Chief A. S. Udofia - member, Monsignor Peter Inyangetor - member, Elder Udo Samson Akpan - member, Mr. Moses Ekpo - member, Prof. E. J. Etuk - member, Mrs. Glory E. Effiong - member, Prof. Emem Ufot Nwa - member. His Excellency, the Governor wishes to congratulate the Chairman and other members of the Governing Board of the institution and hopes that they will use their wealth of experience to render faithful and dedicated service to the University to justify the confidence reposed in them. In addition, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio has confirmed the appointment of Prof. S. W. The National Universities Commission has re-affirmed its commitment to assist the Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) realize its academic mandate. The deputy secretary of the commission, Prof. Ignatius Uvah, stated this recently at the end of his inspection tour of Ikot Akpaden and Obio Akpa campuses of the University. He said the aim of the visit is to inspect the available facilities with a view to advising the institution on the NUC's approved standard. Prof. Uvah lauded the state government for the facilities provided at the two campuses of the university. ---- 19-05-2010

The Board member representing Akwa Ibom State in the National Universities Commission and former Minister of Environment, Chief Mrs. Helen Esuene has expressed satisfaction at the development undertaken by the State Government at the Akwa Ibom State University of Technology. She expressed surprise at the extent of work on the campus and attributed the success story to the goodwill of the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio and the team work exhibited by the management and staff of the University. In his remarks, the Ag. Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. S. W. Petters commended Chief Mrs. Esuene for her visit which which he admitted was quite encouraging. He disclosed that the university was currently on admission process and preparing structures towards the September take-off date. -- 30th July 2009.

Akwa Ibom State University of Technology has conducted aptitude test for her first choice candidates in the 2009 JAMB Examinations. Candidates who took the test are advised to regularly visit this site and national dailies to check their results which will soon be released.

All Persons who had bought year 2007 admission form from Akwa Ibom State University of Technology (AKUTECH) are please requested to visit Skye Bank Plc at Abak Road Federal Housing Estate, Uyo, with effect from Monday September 22, 2008 for the refund of the N2,000.00 paid. They are advised to go to the bank with the receipt of purchase for verification before collecting the said amount.
